At WSIS, a United Nations conference in Geneva, the Information Society
is debated. On the morning of 10th December a 50 meter large transparent
with the appeal "Save the Digital Ecology!" has been put up in Vienna at
a central square, the Karlsplatz. This is a visible sign of a new
ecology movement that commits to a fair and democratic information
landscape. After Amsterdam, Belgrade und Novi Sad, this symbolic action
in the public sphere continues the protest against long-term damage to
the ecology of the information age.
