The Relation between the Internet and Broadcast Media

For WORLD INFORMATION FORUM Honor will talk about the relationship between the internet and broadcast media. The internet has enabled a multiplicity of new channels of communication. In recent years streaming media has enabled the internet to be transformed into a broadcast medium, shifting the paradigm away from the predominant publishing models. How can the integration of these new 'soft' broadcasting techniques, with more traditional 'hard' broadcasting techniques (such as radio and television) create tactical channels for independent media producers? This presentation will look at projects such as r a d i o q u a l i a's 'Frequency Clock', and HelpB92's 'FreeB92 Player' and ask questions about how streaming media can be used to creative and strategic projects.
