Remote Jamming

Remote Jamming offers a unique opportunity to tune into the heart of electrosonic frontiers. A hands-on experience of participatory future heritage in the digital realm RAS is one of the first interfaces for online jamming.

The Remote Jamming Software enables up to 12 users spread over the Internet to collaboratively create a MP3-Stream. They can upload sound samples and influence them in real time. All sounds produced with Remote Jamming are processed on the server and streamed immediately.

Eight loop tracks and four audio effects can be manipulated via the Remote Jamming Java Interface. Users are able to determine the starting point, loop length and pitch of the sound samples for each track and can control each of four effects (distortion, delay, am, fm) in various ways. By using the bus function, the output of one track can be fed into the input of another track or back into itself. All sounds produced by the Remote Jamming System can be recorded on the server and are immediately available for other users online.
