"The Global 500" is both an annual list of the world's 500 biggest and most powerful companies and
business corporations as well as a project by Austrian artist Oliver Ressler. The starting point of "The
Global 500" was research done on the websites and the annual reports of the 500 largest
transnational companies. The work consists of a 74 minute video - with statements of economists,
trade unionists and workers about globalization - and manipulated photography of chosen pages of
the corporation's annual reports, addressing and visualizing the important parameters of economic
globalization.
