  Faith Wilding (US)
Artist
Wilding was born in Paraguay in 1943 and emigrated to the United States in 1961. There she studied at the University of Connecticut and received her BA from the University of Iowa in 1968. Subsequently Wilding spent several years in postgraduate studies in art history and art at California State University, Fresno. In 1970 she co-founded the Feminist Art Program with Judy Chicago. Wilding then entered the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia in 1971 where she received her MFA in 1973. As a Graduate Fellow in the MFA program, Wilding worked on the CalArts Feminist Art Program, producing the first feminist collaborative installation, Womanhouse. She has lectured extensively and made frequent guest appearances on educational panels. She has been involved in a number of media productions. Wilding has taught at a number of universities including Vermont College, Cooper Union School of Art (NYC) and Parson's School of Design and is currently Visiting Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
