Polman is Director of the 'Antenna Foundation', The Netherlands, and also co-founder and facilitator of 'Interdoc', a global network of non-governmental organizations concerned with women's right, peace, development, human rights, technology, labor and environment. He has been involved in launching and installing a series of computer-based networks in various regions of Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. Since 1991, Antenna has been the Internet home for a wide range of databases, newsgroups and websites of non-governmental organizations. Polman also works as a consultant for various international organizations, including Greenpeace International, Médecins Sans Frontières, WWF and many others. In 1995, he co-authored a book on the use of new media and information technology by community organizations.
